Cookie notice

Functional browser storage, appearance preferences and optional local daylight on the Knull Training website.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files that a website can place on your device. Local storage is a separate browser facility that retains information between visits. This notice covers both kinds of technology used for this website.

The public website does not deploy optional advertising or analytics technologies. No optional tracking-consent banner is currently required for the site’s own features. Hosting infrastructure may process technical connection information to serve and secure the website; this is distinct from optional advertising or analytics.

Appearance preference

Solar is the default when there is no valid saved preference. Every click of the header appearance button cycles Solar → Light → Dark → Solar. Your explicit selection is saved in local storage under knull-appearance and persists until you change it or clear browser storage. System light/dark changes do not override it.

This functional preference is used only to provide your chosen appearance, not to identify you or measure visits. If storage is unavailable, appearance changes still work during the current session.

Solar phase and local daylight

Solar automatically adapts through sunrise, morning, afternoon, evening and night. Without location permission, it uses your local clock and timezone. It does not request location automatically.

If you choose “Use local daylight” below, your browser requests permission. Rounded latitude and longitude are used in memory on your device to calculate daylight for this visit. Coordinates are not saved or transmitted to Knull, Resend or another service by this appearance feature. Your browser’s location service is governed by your browser and device settings.

Local daylight may save a temporary snapshot under knull-solar-phase, containing only a phase, expiry time and timezone offset. It expires at the next calculated boundary; expired or timezone-mismatched snapshots are ignored. The stored value may remain in browser storage until replaced or cleared. Switching to the local clock clears this snapshot and discards the in-memory coordinates.

Staff sign-in

The private staff administration area uses browser storage to retain an authorised sign-in session. This is necessary for staff access and is not an advertising or analytics purpose. Signing out removes the active session; the public site provides no learner account or public registration.

Your choices and future changes

You can clear site data using your browser settings. This removes saved appearance preferences and may sign staff out. Location permission can be withdrawn in browser settings; the local-clock option above stops using coordinates for this visit.

If optional analytics or marketing technologies are introduced, this notice and the relevant controls will be updated, and any consent required by law will be obtained before activation. Marketing-email consent in the enquiry form is separate from browser-storage preferences.
