Our approach
From business need to lasting application
Understand the challenge. Design around your context. Build capability that can be used at work. Scope, outputs and evaluation are agreed with you before delivery.
Capability lifecycle
A clear path from need to application
This is our proposed methodology, not a claim of verified past practice. Your contract defines the stages, outputs and follow-up included in the engagement.
Diagnose
Establish why the programme exists and what success means in operational terms.
OutputsTraining-needs analysis, competency matrix, cohort definition, prioritised learning objectives.
Design
Convert objectives into a defensible curriculum and assessment approach.
OutputsCurriculum, session plans, case material, exercises, assessment design, delivery plan.
Deliver
Facilitate applied learning with client-relevant context and practice.
OutputsFacilitated sessions, participant workbooks, work products, attendance and assessment records.
Evaluate
Separate satisfaction from learning, and learning from application.
OutputsPre and post assessment results, learning-gain analysis, feedback analysis, evaluation report.
Reinforce
Protect the capability gain after the programme closes.
OutputsAction plans, manager briefing pack, toolkits, follow-up or coaching sessions, handover notes.
Bespoke development
Designed together, approved at the right moments
When an established programme is not enough, we develop a specification around the business need. The approval points are agreed as part of the design scope.
Require
Needs analysis, competency target, population analysis, constraints and success measures.
Approval pointRequirement statement and competency target. Client approves before architecture begins.
Architect
Learning outcomes, module architecture, sequencing, practice ratio, assessment strategy, facilitator profile and materials plan.
Approval pointProgramme architecture document. Client approves before build begins.
Build
Curriculum and session plans, client-specific cases and data, exercises, participant materials and assessment instruments.
Approval pointDraft curriculum, materials and assessment instruments.
Assure
Independent subject-matter review, Knull quality assurance against the design standard, and client design review.
Approval pointApproved curriculum and materials at version 1.0. No delivery before this point.
Pilot
Delivery to a pilot cohort with structured observation, extended feedback, assessment trial and facilitator debrief.
Approval pointPilot report with prioritised revisions. Client decides whether to proceed, revise or stop.
Adopt
Revisions applied, specification written to the master template, programme library entry and rollout scheduling.
Approval pointIssued programme specification and a scheduled rollout.
Engagement controls
Governance matched to the engagement
Scope, responsibilities and reporting
- Mobilisation
- Kick-off, scope confirmation, stakeholder identification, responsibility assignment, timetable, information requirements, access and readiness checks before delivery begins.
- Programme management
- Integrated plan, milestones, dependencies, resource and facilitator scheduling, action tracking and a single agreed source of delivery status.
- Governance
- Defined roles and decision rights, named client and Knull owners, escalation routes, meeting cadence and reporting flows agreed at mobilisation.
- Change control
- Documented evaluation and approval of any change to scope, schedule, deliverables or commercial terms, with impact assessed before acceptance.
- Quality
- Design reviews, facilitator approval, materials quality assurance, delivery checks, assessment integrity, non-conformance handling and corrective action.
- Reporting
- Agreed cadence of progress reporting, exceptions, milestone status, risks and issues, actions and management information appropriate to the audience.
- Commercial control
- Defined deliverables, acceptance evidence, authorised changes, invoice support and alignment to the contract and purchase order.
- Confidentiality & information handling
- Agreed classification and handling of client information, controlled distribution, secure storage and return or destruction at close-out.
- Close-out
- Deliverable reconciliation, evaluation, knowledge transfer, lessons learned and formal acceptance where required by the contract.
Evaluation
Evidence that matches your objectives
Not every engagement includes every evaluation level. Measures are agreed in the scope; return on investment is calculated only where credible data and an attribution method exist.
Reaction
Was the intervention relevant and well delivered?
Relevance ratings, facilitation quality, materials, participant confidence.
Learning
What knowledge or skill changed?
Pre and post assessment, scenarios, practical exercises, demonstrations.
Application
Is the capability being used at work?
Action-plan progress, manager observation, work samples, follow-up review.
Results
What business indicator moved?
Agreed quality, cycle-time, risk, delivery or productivity indicators.
Return on investment
Do monetised benefits exceed programme cost?
Client-approved benefit and cost data, stated attribution assumptions and limitations.
Quality
Quality controls
Proposed controls, subject to the agreed engagement scope. This describes our method, not independently verified operational practice.
